What that means

Every book page on this site has a "Buy on Amazon" button. Those buttons are Amazon affiliate links, and each one is labeled "(paid referral link)". If you click one and buy something, Amazon may pay me a small commission. You don't pay anything extra.

What it doesn't mean

No publisher, author or company pays to be on this site, and none of the picks are sponsored. I choose the books, and each write-up says plainly why the book is worth reading and who it suits, including where it may fall short. I'd rather you skip a book that isn't right for you than buy it because of a link here.

Where the links go

Only the buy buttons on book pages go to Amazon. Links elsewhere on the site, including the short links at mattsbooks.org/r/, take you to a book page on this site first.

Cover images

Book covers come from Open Library and from publishers, and each book page credits its source. They are not Amazon images.
