Why I'd hand it to you
Jethro Kloss first published this book in 1939, and it is still on the shelf in a lot of homesteading and natural-health households. He covers herbs, whole foods, water treatments, fresh air and rest, and he writes from a Christian conviction that God provided what we need to care for our bodies. There is a deep respect for simple living here that feels refreshing now. As a heads-up, it shows its age. The language is old-fashioned, some sections reflect the knowledge of Kloss's time, and it is long and loosely organized. Treat it as a classic reference and dig deeper on the specifics that interest you.
