Why I'd hand it to you
Dale Carnegie first published this in 1936, and the advice still works: remember names, listen more than you talk, admit when you are wrong, and look at things from the other person's side. The examples are old-fashioned, with plenty of businessmen and salesmen from another era, but the ideas transfer easily to work, church and family life. One caution: used without real care for people, these techniques can feel calculated. Carnegie himself warns against flattery, but some readers still find it a little slick. If you take it as a guide to genuine kindness, it has a lot to teach.
