Why I'd hand it to you
Mitch Albom, a sportswriter, reconnects with his old Brandeis professor, Morrie Schwartz, who is dying of ALS. They meet on Tuesdays to talk about life, love, work, aging and death, and Albom records Morrie's lessons. It is short, tender and easy to read, and it has helped many people think about what matters. My caveat: some readers find it sentimental, and the wisdom can feel simple or familiar. It isn't a deep book. As a gentle reminder to slow down and value relationships, especially for someone facing loss, it is a comfort.
