Why I'd hand it to you
Peter Attia, a physician focused on longevity, argues that we should work to prevent heart disease, cancer, dementia and type 2 diabetes decades before they show up. His top tool is exercise, especially strength, stability and cardio fitness, followed by nutrition, sleep and emotional health. The chapter on his own struggles is surprisingly candid. My caution: some of the testing and training he describes is time-consuming and expensive, and parts of the book feel aimed at people with lots of resources. Even so, the case for staying strong and fit as you age is compelling and doable for most.
