Why I'd hand it to you
Peter Zeihan argues that the global trading system built after World War II is coming apart as populations age and the United States steps back from policing the world. He goes sector by sector, through shipping, energy, food, manufacturing and finance, predicting who wins and loses. It is bold and makes you think about supply chains differently. Here is my caution: Zeihan's forecasts are confident and often grim, some have already been challenged by events, and experts disagree with many of his calls. He is also quite optimistic about America compared to almost everyone else. Read it as a provocative forecast, not a prophecy.
