Why I'd hand it to you
Randall Munroe, creator of the webcomic xkcd and a former NASA roboticist, answers absurd hypothetical questions with real physics and stick-figure cartoons. What would happen if you pitched a baseball at nearly the speed of light? He works it out, seriously and hilariously. It is a good book to leave on the coffee table for curious teens and adults alike. Since it is a collection of short answers, it has no real arc, and reading many in a row can feel repetitive. Some of the math is lighter than science fans might want. In small doses it is a joy.
