Why I'd hand it to you
Mel Robbins builds this book around a simple idea: let other people think, say and do what they are going to do, then focus your energy on what you control, which she calls Let Me. She applies it to friendships, family, work, comparison and dating, mixing personal stories with interviews with experts. For people who carry other people's opinions around all day, it can be freeing. A fair critique is that it is a single idea stretched over a whole book, and it can be misread as an excuse not to care. Used well, it is about healthy limits, and that is worth learning.
